Pelassa Sot Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC 2015

Handpicked in late October. The grapes were destemmed and matured in Slavonian and French oak.
Delicate aromas of florals, strawberries, bilberries and raspberries on a pleasantly spicy base. The palate is dry but velvety, harmonious and very persistent with similar characteristics on the palate – rose petals, wild berries and gentle spice. It has class and style, worth drinking with all courses of the meal particularly with fresh pasta and meat dishes.

The Pelassa family has always produced wine from the vineyards they owned and until 2000, limited sales of wine to the northern area of Italy. Mario Pelassa and wife Teresa, parents of current generation Daniele and Davide, built the current winery in 1960. The two sons have turned the winery into a modern and dynamic brand, the core of the winery is still very much family owned and boutique. Davide is the Vigneron and property manager while Daniele is the winemaker and essentially the face of Pelassa, looking after sales and promoting their wines in overseas markets.

A producer on the rise the wines are modern style Barolo’s and Piedmonte blends which feature on all the best winelists in restaurants in Europe, America and throughout Asia.
