Delamotte Brut NV

Delamotte is relatively an unknown house to most, and for a relatively large house it fly’s under the radar compared to the other larger houses with heavy marketing and advertisement backing and support. But for those “in the know” it is regarded as a premium, unashamedly Chardonnay based house with a fresh and elegant style.

A blend of approximately 55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier which combined give a wine of subtle power, appealing freshness, soft curves and a precise, fresh fruit finish, dry style that is balanced and elegant.

Delamotte located in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the heart of the Côtes de Blancs has been a benchmark for Champagne since its humble beginnings in 1760 (over 250 years ago), demonstrating an unflagging respect for the terroir and the villages of the Côtes de Blancs.

Vineyard location is key here, defining the house’s elegant and focused style. A house unlike no other, with all their grapes sourced from vineyards located exclusively from the Grand Cru villages – Le Mesnil sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant.

This unassuming wine house is “sister” to the very prestigious House of Salon, and together their focus is unashamably on Chardonnay based champagnes, they share the same viticultural, winemaking and management team.
