Pinot Grigio / Pinot Gris

Grigio in Italy, Gris in France and Grauburgunder or Rulander in Germany. The Alsace style is big rich wines, low in acidity but very pleasant drinking that surprisingly ages well. In Italy it can vary from neutral in flavour to interesting pear and citrus flavours but always crisp with fresh acidity. Drink the Italian versions young.
